Terms of Service
Last updated: July 7, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Stitchist website and web application (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Stitchist is an embroidery digitizing studio: you can draw and edit designs, generate machine-embroidery stitch data, preview it, and export machine files. Some features are free; others require a paid subscription ("Pro"), as described on the pricing page.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to create an account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or abuse the Service (including attempts to circumvent plan limits, rate limits or security measures).
3. Subscriptions & billing
- Pro is billed monthly or yearly through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices shown at checkout are authoritative.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from the billing portal; you keep Pro access until the end of the paid period, then your account returns to the free plan. Your projects are never deleted on downgrade.
- If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it; continued failure ends Pro access.
- If something isn't working for you, contact us within 14 days of a charge and we'll make it right.
4. Your content
- You own your designs. Anything you draw, import, digitize or export with Stitchist is yours, including commercial use of your stitch files.
- You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the Service — e.g. storing your saved projects and thumbnails so you can access them.
- You are responsible for your content: don't upload material you don't have the rights to (e.g. trademarked logos or copyrighted art you aren't licensed to use).
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: probe, overload or disrupt the Service; access it by automated means that circumvent rate limits; share one account across a team; resell or sublicense the Service; or attempt to extract other users' data.
6. Important embroidery disclaimer
Machine embroidery depends on fabric, stabilizer, thread, tension and the machine itself. Always test-stitch on scrap material with the same stabilizer before stitching a final piece. Format-to-machine compatibility information in the Service is guidance only — confirm your machine's requirements. We are not responsible for damaged garments, materials or machines.
7. Warranty & liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Changes
We may update the Service and these Terms. For material changes we will give notice (e.g. on this page or by email). Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
