Embroidery resizing questions

Is this embroidery design resizer free?
Yes. Resizing and previewing are free and do not require sign-in. A free Stitchist account is required to download the resized file on the website. You do not need Pro or a payment card.
Does resizing preserve embroidery stitch density?
The resizer rebuilds recognized fill rows and satin passes to keep their spacing close to the original. It reports how much of the design it recognized. Machine files contain finished stitches, not the original digitizing objects, so the resizer cannot guarantee density preservation for every stitch. Unrecognized stitches are scaled in their existing order. Check decorative fills, tiny details and outlines, and test-stitch the resized file.
How do I resize a design to fit my embroidery hoop?
Read the original measurements after uploading, then enter a target width or height that fits your hoop’s usable sewing area. The other dimension stays proportional. For example, changing a 100 × 80 mm design to a width of 125 mm also changes its height to 100 mm. Check both dimensions and the result’s actual measurements before downloading.
Can I make an embroidery design larger or smaller?
You can choose 50–200% of the original size, within 500 × 500 mm. This is a processing range, not a guarantee of sew-out quality. Small lettering can become unreadable when reduced, and enlarged satin columns can become too wide. For major changes, resizing the original digitizing project is more reliable.
Will thread colors, trims and sewing order survive?
The resizer keeps sewing order and passes jumps, trims and stops to the output encoder. Each machine format has its own limits. DST, EXP and U01 do not preserve the full thread palette; some other formats approximate colors. The result preview reads the exported file so you can inspect it before downloading.
Does resizing change my original file?
No. Every resize starts from your original upload and produces a separate download. Files are processed on the server and the temporary results expire after 30 minutes, or sooner if storage fills up. Save your download before leaving the page.
